Founder of Python Academy receives PSF Community Service Award

Mike Müller, the founder of Python Academy, received the Community Service Award der Python Software Foundation for his activities in organizing the first two EuroSciPy conferences, the now annual event for scientifc Python users in Europe, and the first PyCon DE.

We are very glad that we can offer our course for scientists and engineers now also in the USA (Python for Scientists and Engineers (USA)). This is a cooperation with David Beazly the renowned Python book author and Python trainer.

Tutorial: Faster Python Programs through Optimization in Santa Clara (USA) March 7 at PyCon US 2012

We have been teaching tutorials at PyCon US since 2007 and continue to do so. The tutorial Faster Python Programs through Optimization gives an overview if optimization techniques in Python. If you attend PyCon US and would like to learn how to make Python programs faster, this tutorial is for you.

Tutorial: Plotting with matplotlib" in Santa Clara (USA) March 8 at PyCon US 2012

Our second tutorial Plotting with matplotlib provides a hans-on introduction to matplotlib. Learn the basic elements of matplotlib that help you to make publication-ready plots with just few lines of Python. We cover even how to make animation with matplotlib.

Presentation: Python and HDF5 - Fast Storage for Large Data in Santa Clara (USA) March 10 at PyCon US 2012

We also present at PyCon US. Mike Müller will talk about Python and HDF5 - Fast Storage for Large Data. This data format is widely used among scientists but can also be useful for other purposes. If you are interested in non-relational data storage, you will find something interesting there.

Course: "Einstieg in Django" (German) in Leipzig April 23 - 25, 2012

Many Python developers like the web framework Django. The course Einstieg in Django introduces to web application programming with Django. No prior knowlegde of Django is needed. The course is taught in German. An English version is in preparation.

Course: "Django für Fortgeschrittene" (German) in Leipzig April 26 - 27, 2012

Right after the introductory course, the course Django für Fortgeschrittene provides advanced topics for web development with Django. Prerequisits are either experince with Django or participation in the course Einstieg in Django, given just before this corurse. The course is taught in German. An English version is in preparation.

PyCon DE in Leipzig October, 4 - 9, 2011

The first German Python conference will take place in Leipzig October 4 - 9, 2011. The Python Academy is Sponsor of this event.

EuroSciPy in Paris August 25 - 28, 2011

The Python Academy organized the two first EuroSciPy conferences in 2008 and 2009 in Leipzig starting the EuroSciPy conference series. The conference moved to Paris for 2010 and 2011.

Dr. Müller (CEO Python Academy) served on the EuroSciPy 2011 program committee and gave two tutorials.

The third EuroSciPy conference took place July 8 - 11 in Paris, France. After the two first EuroSciPys in Leipzig, Germany organized mainly by Python Academy, the torch has been passed on to Paris.
