Function

The Engineer System Data Analysis and Modeling is a member of the data analysis team. He processes mainly electrical and meteorological data to ensure a continuous performance reporting of Soitec’s power plants. He develops new analysis methods on both internal and external request and he implements them in the Python programming language. He summarizes the results and presents also complicated relationships in a simple and clear way.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular performance analysis of Soitec’s power plants
• Develop new analysis methods and implement their automated execution using Python
• Support system & module R&D, sales and management by providing responses for internal / external data requests Qualifications/Profile
• Degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent
• Good knowledge of mathematics and statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing)
• Good understanding of basic physical relationships (e.g. power, energy, photovoltaics, electricity)
• Good programming skills (Python a plus), good knowledge of Linux a plus
• Willingness to learn new tools and concepts in a self-directed way
• Capability to break down complex problems into manageable units
• Experience in analyzing time series, working with physical quantities
• Ability to summarize results concisely (e.g. plots, reports)

Job Description

ToolPart Team LLC would like to extend the Open ERP - Magento connector by adding support for the product_variant_multi module. Open ERP is a Python based modular ERP framework that has a nice and intelligent connector (called magentoerpconnect) to Magento, a PHP-based webshop engine. Unfortunately, this connector lacks support for Open ERP's product_variant_multi module. The task is to implement extend the modules (both on the Open ERP and the Magento sides) to be compatible with product_variant_multi. This is a request for quotations for this project.

• Interest in GUI programing.

The Sr. Software Development Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of the award-winning WordStream suite of products.

Development is presently done primarily using Python on the server and Adobe Flex/HTML/AJAX as a Rich Internet Application (RIA) frontend. However, like everything in the computing industry, we're constantly evolving how we work. We're always on the lookout for newer and better technologies, and as a result, the technologies we use tomorrow are likely to be different.

This is a full-time telecommute position. The Sr. Software Development Engineer can choose to work in our Boston office, or they can choose to work from at home or from any location in the world.

What Python is used for

The Sr. Software Development Engineer will be an individual who has top-notch coding skills, and can demonstrate a aptitude to learn new technologies.

Prior experience with any specific technologies (e.g. Python or Adobe Flex) is not a requirement; we're looking for people with a history of leveraging any technology to create masterpieces.

Prior experience working on web analytics applications, search engines, content management systems or other Web publishing systems is a plus.
